Used Dano Longhorn
Im going to have to buy one soon.
With some black hardwear... :/ GAS
Squier VM Jazz.
Pawnshop find...with a lot of money left over in your budget for strings, strap, tuner.. a nice dinner out, whatever
I just bought one and I love it!!!
Modded Peavey Fury $25 over your limit
and if you can handle a heavy bass
also SX's come up all the time
If you are in no rush and do your homework, the classifieds always have nice surprised for under $300.00. The other point of buying used from talkbass is that the bass would probably come setup and with a decent set of strings.
ibanez sr 300
Used complete Mexican Fender body and new Warmoth neck is what I just did. Just a tad over three bills. Waiting on the neck though.
This is what I'd get since it's not in my current collection:
I just spent $300 on a bass a week or two ago.
Wanted to try a six and not go into debt.
If you gave me $300 right now I'd get this:
Used Yamaha BB414. Always a few kicking around ebay.
Oh wait... I already DID buy this
Do they still make these? I have thought about getting one to have a short scale.
How do they sound?
It would make boogie woogie in G alot easier.
You cannot go wrong with a used Peavey. You may even be able to afford one made in the USA. They are solid for the $$$!!
Is there a Music-go-Round near you? http://www.musicgoround.com/ I got a used one of these http://www.cortguitars.com/_webapp_2714983/GB34A nd love it. I think new ones can be had for about $300. I found my bass on the website. It was at their Greenfield, WI store. I live just outside of Detroit, MI. They shipped it to me. Their website can be a bit annlying, but you might get lucky!
All I can say about the Rondo suggestion, if you're gonna get two of 'em, why not one Jazz & one Precision?
All the best in your search.
I have one and it's sweet. Great bass for the price.
I did have $300 and I bought an Epiphone T-bird
and I don't regret it at all
Damn, that looks pretty. I'm going to keep an eye out for one to try.
BC Rich Eagle1, Revenge Warlock, Revenge Zombie, or Ibanez SR300. If either of the BC Richs I'd also drop a basslines blackout 2-band active eq into it a little later unless got it at low enough price to add the $59 bucks for the eq in the $300 price. Lol. The Eagle is doable that way, but might have to save up a month for the eq add if got revenge warlock or revenge zombie. The Ibanez sr300 is fine stock with its onboard style sweeper eq and very nice imo pups.
