I know fodera makes 33" length basses but I have been looking around to see what other luthiers are making shorter scaled basses.
  2. My Stambaugh is 33" scale.

Not specifically '33, but short nonetheless..
    Lefay.de make a very nice one(quite spectacular actually).<http://www.lefay.de/english/bass_singer6_32inch.html>
    Alembic make plenty.
Marleaux make a mini bass which still works.<http://www.marleaux-bass.com/marleaux-bass_consat_sopran.html>
Seibass have alsp made a couple short scale basses.
I think I have seen a Morch as well.
Doesn't tony grey use a short yamaha?
    Höfner make short ones.
squier jaguar and mustang and bronco.
    Rob allen also does<http://www.roballenguitars.com/info_mouse.html>
I'm sure you'd be able to order a shortscale from most any builder you ask.

Quite a few will. Unless I'm mistaken, Bud LeCompte, Cliff Bordwell and Rob Allen (all great luthiers) will build a 33" scale and there are lots of others.

For me, Chris Stambaugh and Alan Cringean (ACG) would get the call. In fact Chris is building me a pair of 33" basses and I've started talking to Alan about building me one too.
  6. Watson Basses makes some very nice, beautiful basses. I don't agree with his approach to marketing a bass specifically "made for women" shtick. Because if these are women's basses, I'm screwed in the head. I love 'em.

Brian at the Low End makes 33" scale (www.thelowend.net). One of his 33" scale 5 strings LEJ basses had one of the best B strings I've ever heard. To those that say good B strings have to have 35" scale, blah blah blah....try one of Brian's 33" and you'll never go back.
  11. Ric5 (of course) beat me to the obvious.

FBB Bassworks makes several different scales.
