    Hello,

I own and operate a Westone Spectrum GT bass which i defretted sometime last year. My question concerns the headstock, at the moment it's a really long 4-in-a-row style and I want to know if it's possible or risky or whatever to change it to a 3+1 style headstock and lob off the end.
maybe this picture will explain it better:

right well if nobody's saying "oh dear god no!!! don't do it!!" I'm just gonna asume it's safe and go ahead and cut my bass up.... in a few days.

I don't think there's anything really wrong with it, provided you aim to keep the string in a straight line (new right tuner, no side2side angle)) from tuner -> nut.
