This is just to see what the standard around the bass world is. All opinions are just that individual’s opinions. I’m looking to change my set up to something lighter in weight. I use a rear mounted 1-18 in a upright "W" bin type cabinet, it perform best in large or long rooms, for added punch and clarity I use 2-10s All opinions are wanted, and welcome.

Everyone has their own opinion. I have used both 2x12s and 4x10s. While the 2x12 cabs sound great, it just wasn't the sound I wanted, I think. So it's 4x10s for me.

  3. For tone variety and lightweight I'd go with a stand alone 212. I voted 410 x 115 though, I lika dem...

right now its just a 1212 stand alone
Going to be 4x10 + 2x12 in the future

  5. 2x12, but more portable: 1x12 + 1x12.

    My big rig IS big:

    two 4x10 cabs
    +
    customized 2x15
(one Eminence Kappa Pro 15, one Eminence Kappa Pro 15LF)

    Power is provided by a Yamaha P7000S (950 W/Ch into 4 ohms)

Signal provided by Dingwall 5-string basses, with low string dropped to A.

    Earplugs (and a back-brace) recommended.:meh:

Since I practice in my finished 3rd floor attic, I started with a single Berg HT112, and for my birthday I traded a bass I wasn't using and some cash for a Berg EX112. This works for my situation, YMMV.

  9. and 4x10 + 1x15 isn't? :))

Oh yeah you right. I was just looking at what two 1-12 cabs cost verses one 2-12 cab thats all. I thought about that also, but my money wont let me go that rout. My back would love for me to tho :meh:

My big rig is an Avatar 410neo, and a Carvin RL-18. My medium rig is two Avatar SB112s, or one SB112 for my smallest. Just ordered a 2-12, don't yet know where it will end up in my cab mix yet.

  14. just wondering what would a 2x10 sound like with a 4x10?

I prefer 12's and have both a pair of Aguilar GS112's and an Accugroove Whappo Jr. Although they sound different, both have a LOT of beef and a really warm mid-range that is more defined than other configurations.

For amps I'm using a Glockenklang Heartcore (tone) or an Aguilar AG-500 (much less weight!). I did an outdoor gig last weekend using the Accugroove and the Aguilar, with an Alleva Coppolo LG-5 - how's that for an "A" rig? (boo, hiss!)

The really nice thing about having this setup is that it is really modular - I can take anything from 1 GS112 up to both heads and all three cabinets.

  17. I like 2x12 + 2x12 the best.

Preferably in the same cab. :D

    I'm a junkie.
    I have a 410 he and a 1510he as one set up.
    I just added a BXT 410 and a BXT 115 as a second.
This weekend I'm picking up a Ampeg 810.
    I know,I know.
    There's something wrong with me.
