I want to do an experiment:
I want to insert 4 PUPs in a Jazz Style bass made by an italian lutier.

2 in the standard position, 1 in between, 1 nearest the neck.

I intend to use four volume controls.

Do you have suggestions or comments?

    Ciao!

I had actually given thoughts to a bass similar to a Stu Hamm (2 Js and a P in between) or a single coil P by the neck. Just something different...

I would just have a volume control for each pickup and a master tone control...simple enough. Especially if you use stacked volume controls. You won't need any more pots than what you currently have.

    My suggestion:

2 pups side by side in the neck position and 2 side bu side in the bridge position

    like a Guitar humbucker eh?

then you can wire control switches for series parallel controls and another one for series parallel for the whole system

imagine 4 jazz pups running in series!!!

i think this is similar to the fender roscoe beck bass

    just my suggestion =)
