4-string bass recommendation ($500-600 budget, Cort GB74 or other?)

    Hi, I'm getting back into bass playing after a hiatus of around 10 years. Looking for a decent and comfortable 4-string electric bass. I play fingerstyle and with a pick, not slap. I used to play a Fender Jazz Bass Plus V, but I never really bonded with it. I've decided to go back to basics and get a 4-string.

    Haven't looked at a lot of basses, but I found a YouTube demo of Cort GB74 Gig:


    I have to say that this bass ticks a lot of boxes for me, especially I like the P + MM/J pickup arrangement. Alder body and maple neck also seem like a good recipe to me.

    Unfortunately, I cannot try before I buy, so I am resorting to the old method of asking complete strangers for advice...

    Are there other basses in this price range that are worth considering?

    New Cort GB74 GIG bass (P/J/MM)

    Other basses in that range would be Squier, MIM Fenders and Sterling basses. Not to mention all the Ibanez, Jackson etc...models. Tons of choices and Cort makes most of them anyways haha.
