Help me decide on these please.
PS: I'm going to buy used and want to keep it under $1250.
70's Jazz bass is my choice here.
Hey Jason, just try them all if possible and make your mind after that.
I have some of the list:
'79 JazzBass original, very nice but heavy
'00 Modulus VJ, very nice but not quite like JB
'93 JB MIM, gig backup bass cause it is light
They all are keepers, but the choise is yours after all. I am happy at the moment with my arsenal, but the most I play now is my '65 PBass.
You didn't include a Fander USA DELUXE Jazz bass. That's what you want!
Be sure to check out Sadowsky and Mike Lull!
For under $1250?
Err, he wants to buy used... Can you get a used Sadowsky or Lull for that price?
He might find a Lull at that price. Other options I'd seriously consider are Warmoth and G&L JB2.
check out MIJ fenders...
- 75 of reissue fender
- fender aerodyne
- fender geddy sig
- fender marcus sig
Here's a list of Decent Fenders to try:
MIA 75R.I. used (if you can find one).
MIA n.o.s. standard jazz new.
MIA series jazz w/parallel switch (nice bass)
MIA DLX jazz used (preferably with 1/4 inch slugs and Suhr preamp)
MIM 60's jazz bass(real sleeper)
MIJ marcus Miller & Getty Lee jazz basses.
MIM DLX jazz( contains MIA electronics).
Essex SJB and a good amp
I put down Newer MIA. I've never played a '70s Jazz, though. The thing about the MIA is that, if you get it, get it in Ash.
