Are there any 5 string necks that will fit a standard neck pocket on a 4 string fender pbass?

I know I could have on custom made, but I don't have that kind of $.

I can't think of any true 5 string neck that will fit a 4 string pocket, but that would be interesting to see a a bass neck where the heel (the place where the neck meets the neck pocket) is smaller so a large neck can fit a smaller joint.

A company named Zolla ( http://www.zollaguitars.com/ ) made 5-string necks to fit on a 4-string body--they have a smaller heel but wider neck and fretboard, just like Whafrodamus described. Don't know how much building they do now, though. Of course, you'll also need a 5-string bridge to fit.

Allparts offers a 5 string neck, the BRO 5, that fits a 4 string pocket. Check out Allparts.com.

I would suggest that instead of making a fishing pole into a rifle, you just go buy a fishing pole.

    If that makes sense.
