What's the thinnest and most narrow necked 5 you've played?
Ibanez Soundgear. It was horrible.
Ibanez Ergodyne. Plays nice, but slapping and popping are much much more difficult.
The old Steinberger L2/5 -- basically an L2 (which already had a narrow-ish neck) with 5 strings squeezed on. That's by far the narrowest one I've played, though it wasn't particularly thin front-to-back.
Another vote for the Ibanez soundgears. If you want a thin neck, look no further. If you want to slap, try before you buy.
Pedulla rapture J2 for me. It is amazingly stable for its profile. Great bass.
Zon Sonus has the thinnest profile of any 5 I have ever played.
Fernandes has the narrowest neck(and string spacing) of any 5 I have ever played.
So, how are you liking the Rapture, Charles? I miss it from time to time.
Another vote for Ibanez Soundgear. It's not horrible and I slapped the crap out of mine for 8 years before I upgraded. You get used to it.
Actually has anyone ever played a beatles Hoffner bass. only 4 strings but they're so incredibly close together it's almost unplayable.
Very happy with the purchase. Sent you a PM with more detail.
