Good morning! I am preparing to start my custom build of the Rick copy I bought. I found Dan's video below and love the design, so I may go this route somewhat for the look.

One of the problems I am having is finding a bridge that has the Rick look, but in a 5 string version. I really like the Hipshot Rick bridge, but can't find one in black for a 5 string. Does anybody know something close to that style in a 5 string version?

    Thanks!

    But for the record

    Good choices would be

    Schaller

or a Stingray style clone from ebay

Get your 5 string rick replacement pickups from Jerry Sentell ... I don't have enough good things to say about this guy

and he does the 4 string version as well

The pickups sound as good or better than the stock ones

Thanks so much for all of the information! I may be interested in one of those! I actually haven't gotten my Ric yet, it was just shipped. I had actually already ordered one of the Chinese models you linked above. I'm going to be building it slowly as I get the money to finish. I want to put quality electronics, tuning heads, etc. on it.

Let me know about how much it would cost to get one of the bridges from you though. I've been looking at Hipshot and Schaller bridges so far, but haven't found anything I'm in love with yet.

    Thanks again!

If ya don’t mind me toss’n a quick question out, What’s the general rundown on what’s involved in a 5 string conversion??

  9. If you go to the Luthiers Corner and find @Ric5 thread on the subject, I believe he goes into his process for a 5 string conversion. I could be mistaken, it’s been a while since I read all the way through it.
