50th Anniversary P Bass Question

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by SALT.Shaker, Oct 16, 2002.

  1. What is the general opinion on this particular Precision Bass? Of course it is a great P bass, but is it worth the extra $250 for the special edition model? Do you think that it will be worth more 20 years down the road because it is stamped with the 50th anniversary emblem? I saw one at a store priced at $1100 including the case. I played it and it seemed to be very comparable to the American Standard. What's your thought?

I like the Fender Vintage series but thats me!. You got to play both and go with what feels good in your hands. Don't worry about what it's going to be worth in 20 years just buy what feels and plays good and play the crap out of it.:D

Ive got a 50th anniversary P, and its a very nice Bass, but (imo) it doesnt feel/sound any different than my 98 MIA P.
Will it be worth more in 20 years? Probably, but thats not why I bought it.
