1.) I'm sorry I could probably find this out by myself but Im lazy, on 5-string Basses is the 5th string the highest or the lowest? And what are some of the advantages to having a 5-string?

2.) What are some of the advantages to having a fretless bass?

    A) The fifth string is usualy a B

    B) it's really about what tone your looking for, the fretless give out a mwah sound that lots of people love, its all subjective when it comes to fretless (you cant really compare fretless v fretted)

I'm sorry, but if you're just "too lazy" to do a search, I'm not going to help you. Just do one, there are a lot of topics on this. And it wont hurt you too, and last I checked, it's free, and not difficult.

  4. U can choose which notes will be the additional string...
    B or C!

And fretless is a really different beast, depends on what you want!
Some players do everything with a fretless and some not...
    Got to try....
