Look for a good used Carvin. I have had this one since I bought it new in 1994, it plays & sounds great and I have never had anything go wrong with it. Very well built.

A wonderful list of basses from Geoff St Germaine. Don't forget, when looking at some of the manufacturers, to consider cost of shipping/duties/taxes and on and on to the Netherlands. Although I'm sure many of the North American builders already have European representation.

A 6 string fretless is high on my list of things to do/get.

  7. +1
    You're a complete guy.
    Well done

I think you really have to try fretlesses before buying, sound and feeling is very different from standard basses from what I know...
    Good luck

Since you're in the Netherlands, why don't you check out Jan Knooren or Ellio Martina?

Again, though, a lot depends on how much you have to spend.
