I got the Brice HXB 406, and I love it to pieces. Takes a bit of setting up, though. After that, it's amazing.

Very good bass for the money.
  7. UK ebay, thought that would be more helpful for you too as shipping would be a tad cheaper :)

thanks for all the help but i need to get my priorities straight:

    1: Money
    2: Amp
    3: 6 String
    4: Fretless

stupid americans with their slightly more affordable instruments... :spit:
  9. annoying thing is it isnt that much cheaper

because we get nailed with 10% (roughly) import tax on the cost of the item, then we have to pay 17.5% VAT for the item, the import tax on the item AND the shipping

you get alot of great deals on the UK ebay, so your probably better watching both

Hohner makes a pretty nice 6 that's fairly cheap, too. I think it's like $700 US. The guy from Los Lonely Boys plays one. I've heard good things about the Grind, too. It's got two too many strings for my tastes, but I have heard good things about them. It's unbelievable the quality of cheap guitars and basses these days. Back when I started, cheap guitars and basses sucked out loud. Nowadays the cheap guitars and basses are darn good and give a lot of bang for the buck.
