Who thinks what of what. I think the Smith EG 6 maybe takes the cake? Even after owning Smith I just do not know about that nasly midrange though.

    Smith-MTD-R bass?
I think smith and Mtd are worth comparing but R bass?........considering the reputatation ken smith and Mike tobias has build overtime..............I think you can narrow the option to MTD or Smith only.......;)

R Basses are "Faux"dera's. They must be decent. I'd probobly think more of his basses if they weren't such a blatent copy.
Out of the basses mentioned though, I'd have to say Smith by a longshot.

R Basses are some of the best basses you can get, period. Ray makes a killer bass.

There have been some interesting stories about the guy.

Anyways, having owned all of them, Many smiths on that note, I stick with my R bass, but the MTD was a very awesome bass that I kept for a long time. Smiths, while a very excellent bass, were just not my thing.
