There was a thread about the sound of the 60th Anniversary American Fender Precision but the discussion didn't get past whether Fender actually had been around for 60 years. Or if the concept of Pbass with a '62 pickup was anything more than marketing hype.

So I will give it another go. Has anyone actually played one of the 60th anniversary American Fender pbasses? Would you be willing to compare and contrast the sound of the American Vintage ’62 Precision Bass split single-coil pickup with the sound of an American Precision Bass Split Single-Coil Pickup in the current production American Pbass. I get the drift that people don't think much of the S1 switch on the pbass and am willing to stipulate to that fact.<g> Otherwise, thanks for taking a swat at the question.
