Honestly, if it were me, I'd leave it stock. At least until you've played it for a while. You may decide that you like it as is.

I think the Badass ll would be a great mod for that bass. I have an old jazz that I had the BA ll put on. Absolutly love it.
    Of course just my .02

Is there any problem with the stock bridge?

If there's no problem with it so why change?
  6. i would put in the stack knob controls like on the AVS 62 RI, theyre real BA, even if only for looks. i also like the functionality of them, but i think they look great as well. what color btw?

and I want to add the BA II bridge because I just love the look of it, and what it does to the sound of the bass.

Where are you getting it mate?

I live reasonably local and would love to try some Fender Japan RI's esp. 62 P-Bass.

    Let me know

I put a BAII on my Jazz copy for two pretty superficial reasons. My first "real" bass was an early 70's Jazz and it had one (obviously should have kept it). Also for bragging rights, the name is just - well, bad ass! Stupid, huh?

Get it professionally installed - the tech should be familiar enough with them to know that the bridge saddles need to be filed to whatever string gauge you use. The installation shouldn't cost much, and it shouldn't require any hole drilling in the bass.

I've played '62 Jazzes loads before and I've always wanted one, I'll probably order one off the internet, it's cheaper and I don't particularly want to play it first cos it can't be that different to other '62 basses

Don't upgrade the bass at all; leave it stock. That's my recommendation.

Check out Hipshot "B" bridges. I have them on all of my Fenders. Also, I have Hipshot detuners on all of my 4 strings.

I found that I preferred the stock bridge.
There have been many many discussions here on this subject.
The general consensus is...stock is better.

I thought high mass bridges were currently out of fashion.
