Obviously, I don't have to say much about this. I will regret selling this, but I need other purchases right now.

Pedal is in like new condition, I never had the chance to gig with it. I had it made over the summer and have only played it at home. Love it.

$700, possible trades + cash for other nice preamps.

I realize this is the price for a new one, but you'll be waiting for 2-4 months while it gets built, plus shipping. I think this is a very fair price.

Other Preamps I'm interested in are:
    BBE BMAX-T
    Ampeg SVP-CL (or PRO)
    Aguilar DB 659

    Price lowered to $650

Free bump for a truly amazing all-tube preamp with a versatile EQ and impeccable attention to detail. I run mine straight into a Crown K1 and it's tonal nirvana; I also had it for a while in the effects loop of my Mesa Walkabout, and also good to record direct. Deep thumpy lows, sparkling detail in the highs, eloquent mids, never shrill, never boomy. It even looks cool. Some may flinch at the price but you get what you pay for. This is the one tube pre to rule them all.

I'll jump on this train. Sorry to see you having to sell this. Here's my review I sent Ben a couple weeks after getting my Meatsmoke in the beginning of Nov. GLWTS. Oh, and thanks for posting that gut shot. I haven't ever opened mine up yet.

"I've found that my best results are by running it a little differently then intended. ( Maybe not as much, different then intended, but different then most other users I'm guessing.) It's really just ridiculous how awesome it sounds. My settings are both channels always on; channel 1 - volume practically maxed, highs, mids, and lows flat, gain around 90%. Channel 2; volume practically maxed, highs & lows flat, mids around 60 - 65%, gain around 20%. With the gain low on the boost channel, the amount of breakup is practically the same as on channel 1 but the result is a far thicker tone. Channel 1 is roughly 3/4 the audible thickness of both of them engaged. This is a side off this pedal I've never heard described on the text review or video.(If I had the setup to make a quality video, I would.) I love how the 2nd channel is really just a continuation of the 1st. They are so interactive. What I do in the 1st comes through in the tone of the 2nd. I'm no wordsmith, but the tone is just SO thick & warm with just a small amount of natural sounding breakup. It's truly equal to the epiphany that I experienced the first time I played through/cranked an SVT.(I could have yelled "Eureka!" during each of these moments.) I use a Fuzzrocious Demon w/ clean blend and gate as a heavy od (on 75%of the time.) in front of the Meatsmoke going into a Carvin DCM 2500 poweramp and this is just pure sonic bliss. Honestly in a blind test, someone would be hard pressed to tell it wasn't a tube rig. There are no remnants of the solid-state power section. I've never heard a non tube amp that didn't have at least some amount of sterility. I really attribute this to the 2nd channels added thickness. I've gigged it twice now and each time was immediately approached after we finished by multiple people just wanting to express how awesome I sounded and look at my rig."

As much I want this I would rather buy new direct from the builder for that price. If you decide to sell it at an actual used price let me know.

Beat me to it. $700 is not a reasonable used sale price. Lower it and this will move FAST.

I agree, it would definitely move fast if I lowered the price, and I am a little negotiable (ask both people who have PM'd me, I've tried to work out trade offers and cash offers as best I could).

That being said, I'm in no rush to move this, I love it. I just can't justify it since I don't gig. I'm sure someone who is impatient to get this practically new unit 3 months sooner than ordering a brand new one will jump on it. Also, I think it's against the rules on this forum to suggest the seller has an unreasonable price or to suggest anything of that matter.

Per the request, though.. I will lower the price slightly. This, of course, will make negotiations much tighter.

    $650

but, please, Agali and Bassmusic17, do not post comments like this on other classified ads.

edit: Not sure how this came off, but I'm not mad or upset in the slightest. After rereading what I wrote, I realized that it may come off that way. I appreciate the feedback from both of you! Hope the lower price entices you, this sure is a superb pre!!

Woolly and I both purchased Meatsmoke Pres in the same period. Here's a few things I'll say in response to your requests for a lower price. For one, if you purchase new via PayPal from Ben, he requires you to send as a gift. So the $720($20 for shipping) is really more like $740. Then as mentioned above, you will have to wait the month and 1/2 build time. Even at $700 (which is more like $680 on sellers end after he loses the PayPal fees.) there are multiple perks for purchasing this unit. Not to mention, there's no risk because not only will it still have the warranty, PayPal insures your money. I wish this was available before I made my purchase. I would have jumped on it @$700.

And it's definitely not kosher to post that type of stuff on someone's classified ad. Keep it to yourself. If he wanted to ask $1000, that's his prerogative. He's been around long enough to know what he's doing in the classifieds. To continue my tangent; another thing I hate seeing in classified ads, is if you want to make a trade offer, send it in a pm. Don't post it on the thread. I love a good trade, but you're just muddying up their thread with your garbage.

That's all I was asking! $650 is reasonable to me. I didn't mean for my comment to come off as snarky. Sorry if it was taken that way. It is a great pre. Seems like it got a little unnecessary. Wasn't expecting it to be taken that way. :)
