68 Tele - Bass Bridge

Discussion in 'Hardware, Setup & Repair [BG]' started by Ampig, Mar 14, 2013.

  1. Mine is all original with a two saddle bridge. I'd like to replace the bridge for intonation purposes. Does anyone know if the bridge mounting screw patterns are the same as a P-bass bridge?

I would suggest compensated (staggered) saddles and using the bridge, while saving the original parts.

But that may not be the choice...

I don't know about the screw hole pattern for other bridges, but Wilkinson makes a direct replacement bridge with saddles that pivot at their point of attachment to the intonation screws. It is a little more work to adjust it compared with a four saddle bridge, but it allows for adjustment of all four strings accurately, while retaining the look and feel of the original design.

They are available in either 'string through body' (like the original) or 'top load' designs. Prices seem to vary widely. >>>
