Muckelroy HMC 5 P/J 33” Scale Bass. Bought a few weeks ago. Need to sell this for the funds needed for other items.

Listed on Reverb for those who want a financing option:

7 lb Wonder! Muckelroy HMC Model 5 P/J 33"-scale Ulyate Hipshot Gotoh Res-O-Lite Rosewood / Cherry

Here are some details regarding the bass:
    • As the title indicates, it has a 33" scale length. The B-string (currently strung with roundwounds) sounds great. Flatwound Set included (barely used).
    • Nut: 1-3/4”
    • String spacing: 18mm
    • It has a cherry wood body (no exotic top - it doesn't need one).
    • The thru-neck is also constructed of cherry wood.
    • The fretboard is Bolivian Rosewood.
    • The pickups are the Howard Ulyate "tic-tac" passive P/J set, and they are fantastic!
    • It is a passive bass, and as indicated above the controls are Volume/Volume/Tone.
    • Condition is very close to perfect. There are no dings, nicks, etc. and the dark area on the one horn is actually just some natural mineral deposits in the cherry wood.
    • Weight is just a hair more than 7 lbs. (less than 7 lbs., 2 oz. on my postal scale).

Here is the link to the original sale thread:

    SOLD - $2K ... Muckelroy passive 33"-scale P/J HMC Model, virtually 100% Cherry wood

Believe me, I have thoroughly been amazed by the light weight, playability and sound of this bass. Truly, a premium example of modern bass-making, with a hand-made quality. Brady is a true craftsman. Extremely flexible tone from the passive setup.

The bass will come packed in a medium scale black tolex HSC, which fits it perfectly. Price includes shipping to lower 48. HI and AK add $25. No international shipping (fretboard is rosewood).

    PM me with any questions.

Man, it was really hard to pass on this last time. I’m not sure I can let it slip by a second time. Your great new pictures really add to the temptation.
    Question:
How is the balance with it being so light? Any neck dive?

Balance is perfect on a strap. In no way, am I ‘holding the neck up’ while playing. This is definitely my biggest peeve regarding basses. Never do I think of myself as a proficient player, but I definitely don’t need a handicap (of holding the bass neck up to play). The whole bass is very balanced. I am shocked/amazed each time I pick it up.

Also, FWIW: I use an old, slick-backed 4” leather strap (sometimes even a 2.5” nylon strap) and the balance is as I indicated above...
