I'm wondering the more 'useful' tuning - F# or high F (I'm thinking it would be the F#).

I've seen this topic before, but the search engine won't allow the query '7 string tuning'.

actually, the low f# is fine, but requires special amplification to be really useful. few dedicated bass cabs do the low F# justice, ime. you need at least pa subs to handle it properly.

i use low F# tuning often - like the mp3 in my sig, but my main tuning is b-e-a-d-g-b-e.
