hi there every one, and specially M. Turner since he's probably the source for this kind of info...

Anyway, i'm considering a 7 string bass, but the pickup part bothers me... haven't seen any standard config for so many string... I know of Bartolini (the G67 for the Groove Tool mostly) but is there any one else how can build good pickups for a acceptable price or whith out going all out custom?

i find the G67 to be a bit to mellow on the GT7 at least, that'S why i'd like suggestion.

    thanks

well, duncan makes some cool 7 string pickups - shoot, they made me an 8 string wide music-man style exposed pole pickup for ~200 i think. bartolini also makes a few different ones as well, not just the ones on the gt7. my faves were lane poors, but unfortunately lane poor is no more. shoot bill conklin an email, he'll be able to help you out, and he's pretty cool about answering questions like this.

or you can talk to alex in the tech department at seymour duncan. all you have to do is give them the specs, and they'll build whatever you want...but jt's right, bill could prolly get you a really good deal, seeing as how he deals with them all the time...the sd's sound really good when paired with the barto 5.4 preamp...or if you want a more aggressive sound, i would go with the sd music man with the sd preamp...awesome stuff

thanks for the replies, I really appreciate it:)

i have two more... first, the 7 will be designed fro tapping and chordal stuff and will probably only have 1 pickup. Anything I should be looking for in a pickup for this particular use?

As I mentioned earlier, the MM from Seymor Duncan seems interesting and so those the triple coil from Bartolini. By the way, anyone knows how to reach Mr. Bastolini? as I understand that he those respond to email.

    thaks again
