Heard an oldie today and had to look it up- Sky High by Jigsaw- watched some video of them and was interested in the weird bass being played- anyone have an idea about what this thing is??

  2. Cool bass, I suspect a chop job or custom build on that one.

Good luck finding another picture of it. It seems Barrie Bernard (Jigsaw bassist) also used some kind of Burns looking thing with a scroll headstock, and a Gibson EB-style bass.

He is currently a professional illusionist, doing magic and creating illusions for other pro magicians.

    The headstock suggests customized Burns.

  4. That's very possibly the modding platform right there. Pickups and placement seem identical. Pickguard and controls have been completely refashioned.

Don't you hate when you can't find the exact pic?
I mean, one has to exist, right?

    I did a double-take because I used to be in a band called Jigsaww (note 2 W's).

Is it a Burns? Looks like one of those odd Italian pieces from that era.

Looks like an early case of that bass drilling and lightening obsession we've seen a bit of on TB lately!

Looks like the guy who went on to play with a three piece band from Canada.

Cool bass, but I'm more interested in the band's wardrobe

  19. No doubt it is a Burns that had some lets just say alterations ha ha ha. My guess is he was going for a jig jaw puzzle piece design

Early '70s UK pop was rife with gear like that. Especially what the bassist is wearing.

Here's another shower, Kenny, from the same era.
