Hey guys, this is guy is selling his 1978 american fender fretless jazz bass for only 600!!! and those are canadian funds too. Do you guys think that a trade for an Ibanez sr 400 would be a good trade?
Thats a great price, BUT, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong guys, but I don't believe Fender offered a Frettless Jazz in the 70's or much of the 80's! So I doubt that the neck (at the very least) is stock.
ionnno about that put heres the post: http://fiveonenine.com/board/read.php?2,296355 The guy hasnt given any pics as yet...but do you guys think that it would be a good trade Also does anyone have pics of wihte jazz basses?
Yeah, Fender only offered P's in fretless at the time. But 600 CDN is a good price, as long as it's a good playing bass. Just know that its resale value is probably pretty low. Try to get some pics up so we can better help you. I've got a white jazz, beautiful color.
THanks for the help guys... Whihc bass would have a higher resale value 1. '78 fretless jazz OR 2. Ibanez sr400? Il post some pics as soon as he posts some.
My concern is this, From what I can tell Fender did not OFFER a Fretless Jazz until 1988 as a production model. So this bass has A] been defretted (if so by whom?) B] Has a replacement neck. Since the seller is not representing the bass accurately in his descriptions and the price is way below market, my tendency would be to be suspicious. I would at the very least want more details, has the bass been refinished? Condition? what percentage is stock? (We know the neck isn't) Pictures? That price is at least a 1000 - 1500 US under market value, usually those kind of prices merit a red flag! PS: Jenderfazz, that white Jazz is sweet!
