i started a thread like this in another forum asking what type of bass i should get for an 80's revival band.
but i was also wondering if there are any good pedals that would give me 80's like effects?
or is that just something you don't need for that genre of music?

    Chorus pedal?
Used by Pino Palladino, Tony Levin on 'Don't give up', Sting on 'Walking on the moon' (IIRC)

    i second the chorus.

not sure if distortion and envelope filters would be necessary. all depends on what you want to do.

definitely chorus if you're doing the cure-type 80s stuff or work with a fretless.

Chorus is a must, used for everything from new wave to 80s hair metal. Whenever I want to sound new wave I stomp on my chorus and play with a pick.

A nice synth is a bonus too, maybe an Akai Deep Impact or similar...
