I'm guessing a nice Pre EB Ray should be in the $1200-$1400 area.

Well, I`ve seen Pre EB being sold for $1700-$2500 depending its condition, those are the most sought after.

IIRC, Fender left the production by 1979/80. Jackson / Charvel run the company from that period to Ernie Ball era (1984/85). A 1982 Stingray should be somewhere from $1000 to $1500.

    Hope it helps

thats my thought as well-maybe a bit more if it was THE bass you just had to have.

The '81-'84 Pre-EB SR's are generally less sought after that those made before 1980, when Leo Fender was still with MM, from what I've seen. I'd say the $1,200 to $1,400 range mentioned already is pretty good estimate for a '82 SR in good condition. :)
