    CRAFTED IN KOREA late 90's, these are highly regarded and this one
    is a beaut. Ash body in crimson trans red (beautiful grain, pics don't do it justice), wide rosewood board, soapbar buckers, shielded cavity, gold hardware. Fresh from the shop for a pro setup, intonation etc. New strings, new Switchcraft jack, new Sprague orange cap, pots cleaned. Gold hardware shows a little wear. Pearl pg is raised in 2 places, no harm. Very little fretwear for it's age and the usual nicks and swirls and normal playing wear. Back of headstock has the ghost of a sticker ("Guitar Works"). Clean, oiled and

    This is a LOT of bass for the money. The seller's claim about these cutting into the sales of higher end basses is true (as told to me by our Fender rep when I worked at a dealer). I am not associated with the seller at all, only familiar with the bass. If you have been thinking about a 5 but not sure, this is a really inexpensive way to go high quality.

    I used to own one of these, identical to this one. I loved it. For the price, it sounds great and I enjoy the satin finish on the neck. The only reason I got rid of it is because I have a couple of stingrays, and I needed the cash at the time. I would consider getting another if I was in the market for another bass. The only negative thing I can say about it is that I'm not a fan of the gold hardware.
