93-94 MIJ Jazz Pickups

I'm thinking about getting a used 1975 Reissue MIJ Jazz built in 1993-1994. I was looking at the pics of it when I noticed the pickups:

The bridge pickup looks the same size as the neck pickup. It also looks like the routing on the bridge pickup is bigger than the pickup itself. Do you think these are aftermarket pickups put in here? Or a bad routing job on the part of Fender Japan?

Should I ask the seller about it? I'm the current high bidder. If it's just an MIM size pickup in there, it's no big deal, I'll take it out and replace with CS 60s.

 

I contacted the seller, and they said everything was stock... But it doesn't look right to me. It still looks like someone jammed the wrong pickup in here.

Did Fender Japan used to use MIM style pickups, or have they always used USA style (i.e. larger bridge pickup)? Because they look the same size.

 

Meh, it's not bothering me that much now. It still looks to me like someone jammed the wrong pickup in there. If I win I'll have to check it out.
