'93 fender fotiflame p bass

  1. hey guys i found a 93 FOTOFLAME p bass at alocal music shop for about 3 bills and really dug the sound what do you think should i get it or not. i am looking for a good outdoor bass because i live right on the water and don't want to bring my custom 6 or 73 p out on the water. so yea or nea ??

    They're nice basses. Not too sure about the price though. I've never really looked at their pricing.

    If it's in good shape, I think that's a great price. I bought a near mint '94 Foto Flame last year for $250 and an Ibanez SRX500, and I've been very happy with it. These are very well made (MIJ), and their feel and sound are in the ballpark of 1960's Fenders IMO. Mine absolutely nails a vintage P-bass tone, and feels similar to the AV '62RI's I've played. It feels and sounds more like those than does my new American Series P-bass, no question.

    I had one...great p bass tone, equal or greater than quality of the USA Fender stuff.
