'95 MIM Fender Jazz?

    I don't think I would pay $200 for any MIM bass with that HUGE gouge in the top....

    Just my opinion.

    Yeah, and the pickups are both the same size; on newer Mexican Jazzes the bridge pup's a little bigger like on American Jazzes.
  5. With those gouges, it looks to me like the bass was used as a weapon at one point--perhaps to smash the drumer's kit after a bad gig?

    The newer MIM jazzes have an alder body rather than the cheaper woods of yesteryear.

    I used to have a 1995 MIM Jazz Bass. The pickups are both the same size, and they sound terriffic. The body wood is Poplar which also sounds terriffic and is nice and light. I really liked mine. I don't like the gougue though.

    you can get a new mim j for like 3, so dont even bother with that.
  9. Personally, I'd pick a newer one (after the pickups, woods, and knobs were changed). You could do much better for the price.
