http://cgi.ebay.com/Very-rare-TUNG-...7373011783QQcategoryZ4713QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem A rare Tung 6 string bass on the bay, anyone feel interest in it?! I'm wondering how much is the reserve price if he is asking 5200bucks for BIN option.
I like the look of it, But wow at the price!!! I bet the reserve is up there, but have no idea what it would be worth.
Owning a Tung bass myself, 5K is a little much. Not to mention that sucker has to come from Belgium. Unless you are in Europe that is going to be expensive. All in all if I had a free 5K I might spend it. People spend stupid amounts of money on other things that I think are a hell of a lot less important than a musical instrument. That is a beautiful intrument. A Tung Player
You guys forget that many things are much more expensive outside the US, even secondhand. You'd balk at the prices we have to pay for pretty much any instruments here in the UK... almost double what you'd pay most of the time.
USA! USA! USA! seriously though, from my understanding stuff from europe is more expensive here (warwick, ashdown, trace, etc.), so it all evens out...
It is worth whatever somebody ends up paying for it. No more, no less. I see people buying basses and saying I paid X, but it is worth Y. No, it is worth exactly what is paid for it. I had this argument with a jewelry store several years ago when buying an engagement ring. The guy said I'll give it to you for X, but it is really worth Y. I said, no, if it was worth Y, then that is what you would expect me to pay for it.
It's hand made by Nicolas Tung, and finished by Hong and Kim. Thats a little strange. edit: I guess it would'nt have said California if it was from Korea...
Add 5% for Paypal? - I don't think so... :scowl: http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/listing-surcharges.html
