A Bass Similar to a Thumb neck through

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Kraig99, Mar 21, 2003.

  1. Yesterday I played a sweet Warwick 5 string Thumb Neck through. I absolutely loved the sound and feel of the bass, but it is a pretty ugly bass IMHO. Are there any other Warwick models that feel similar and sound similar, but obviously look different? I would just prefer something with a different shape. I know sound and playability are more important than looks, but if I'm going to pay that much for a bass, I want it to look good as well. Any suggestions?

Kinda! Obviously, the figuring of the wood is gorgeous, i like the neck inlays and i like the way the tuning keys are angled. Personally, I don't like the symetry of the body shape and don't care for 1 p/u straight, 1 angled. Just for reference, i own 2 reverend rumblefishes, so beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder! Ha!:D

Then you need the Thumb 5 string, very Reverend-esque two angled pickups arrangement;) :D
