A beer can near wrecked my nite...

Got to gig last evening...set up...quick sound check...all's well...order a can of beer...opened it and felt a slice...middle finger on picking hand...
My thumb got double time and a half for the next 3 hours...
i'll certainly be more careful next time I crack a can...

Edit: in looking at the post and my TB name I can't help but drown in irony...this is my second post about finger injuries sustained in less than 6 months
Perhaps a name change is called for...

 

The beer was a local craft brew..."Breton Brewery Black Angus IPA" only available in tall cans and big glass growlers...had I chose the growler it would have made for a far worse evening for the audience I'm guessing...I chose the can, and it bit me...

 

Worked 15 years as a bartender...3 of those years lived with a guy who installed and serviced draught systems...you'd be hard pressed to find me drinking draught beer, regardless of brand...way too many variables from dirty unkept lines/towers, improper gas pressure, unknown unmarked kegs, to under clean glassware...even the classiest joints overlook some very basic setting like water temp and proper soap...it sounds picky I know...but if you have seen what I have seen flow outta a tap in my career you'd prolly feel the same...bugs, mould, larva, slime, etc
Albeit the top to a can or bottle isn't much cleaner...I guess
I just can't do draught...to each their own

As a former bartender I'd say you are bang on...a served drink hasta be opened...perhaps the lass on the bar didn't wanna chip a nail last nite...she however had many better attributes than her nails...so I didn't notice
