A Capo which allows you to "cap" individual strings?

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous [BG]' started by Tbirdbassist, Dec 24, 2005.

  1. Does it exist? Let me explain further if your unclear.

If you were to be in "X" tuning. And wanted to have "X" fret on the "X" string fretted while leaving the others open. Is there anything that allows you to do that?

The reason I ask is because there are some chords that I've been trying to attempt while in DADG tuning and well, either my hand can't reach or it's just a bit painful to hold for longer than 5 seconds.

    Anything like this exist? :help:

There's a product called the Third Hand Capo that is essentially six capos in one for guitarists to choose which strings are capo'ed. However, there is no bass version that I'm aware of. Check it out at www.thirdhandcapo.com

A much simpler version is known as a cut capo, and they are very common among guitarists. A bas version, if desired, would be very easy to made by modifiing a full capo
