In forty or so years, will Reissue basses be considered vintage vintage basses?

    How 'bout, will Fender say in 2030 make a 2000 Re-Issue of a '75 re-issue??

    Way too many models!! :bassist:

    Makes you think.........

  2. Early 80s Japanese reissues are considered amazing and some would already go as far as to call them vintage. A vintage reissue of a vintage bass... wow haha.

  3. they wont call them vintage, they will call them by the year it was made and then the model its copying, let you decide if its vintage or not

Gibson's been doing this for years with different models of their guitars. Also the T-bird really... They just haven't been adding the word vintage in until recently. There are semi regular appearances/disappearances of different pickup arrangements/color choices/appointments that come and go on alot of basses. It is funny the juxtaposition of the word though. Vintage/vintage.....
