    Hi,

i am considering moving to the power amp/pre-amp direction of things.

over here in the UK, as i am on quite a small budget, i have found a behringer EP1500 power amp that is mono-bridged capable of 1400 watts at 4 ohms. And also, a Behringer Bass V-amp Pro pre-amp.

Firstly, which would come first in the chain, the power amp or the pre-amp?

    2) What Ohm cab would i need for this? What cabs would anyone recommend? i am thinking of running a 4x10 off of this, and at a later date, getting a 1x15 as well.

    thanks

    Dave

Pre amp goes before the power amp. Never put anything after the power amp (other than speakers of course).

As for the cabs, a 15 with a 4x10 will sound huge. I recommend getting cabs that are 8 ohms each. When linked together, these cabs will produce a total 4 ohm load, perfect for that amp.

thanks for the help, but just one other thing.

What power handling would the cabs need to be at the minimum?

    thanks

If you get a couple of 8 ohm cabs as suggested, each cab be accepting 700w from the power amp. You can feed you speakers more power than they're rated for provided you're careful. I'd be looking at cabs at no less that 500w each with no upper limit.
