Hey guys.. Here I am in Mitchell, South Dakota on a business trip... Flew into Rapid City yesterday and spent a day there seeing Mt. Rushmore and touring the "Black Hills".

    BEAUTIFUL!!!

I could live out here!! I wanted to drive over into Wyoming to see "Devil's Tower" but didnt have time.

I really love it out west!!

This morning I got up and took a road trip through "The Badlands"!!! That was neat!! Dont worry, I took lots of pics and will let everyone know when I get them posted!!

Im gonna have to come back out west sometime...

    More to come!!

cant wait to see your pix.

  3. That's what I hear everytime about Mt. Rushmore. Everybody is atleast kinda let down when they see it. Guess I'll have to head out there sometime to see it for myself.

Glad to hear you're enjoying it out there Prog. Vacations are always great, even if they are a working vacation.

So what was the funny thing that happened on the way there? ;)

  5. Where I work we take calls for South Dakota afterhours and on Sundays, and I will admit that I am not fond of people from that state. Not as bad as North Dakota, but still pretty bad. They are pretty impatient, and somewhat absent minded. After about 3 years working here, this is what I have come to find (This is a large generalization not meant to offend, but hey, I am at work and needed to vent :) ).

Someday I hope to make it to the Badlands and Black Hills someday, mostly just to see it for myself. Waiting for the pictures.:D

Back to work today... Actually beginning what I came here to do in the first place...

Mitchell South Dakota has only one music store...

What do you think the probability was that I was going to find higher-end bass gear here??

    ;)

So, vacation is over and now I'm ready to finish what I have to do and get back home. My Conklin 8 string is calling me from Missouri... I can hear it from here.. I'm even gonna have Bill overnight it to me once I get back!! Now I know how drug addicts feel!!

  8. Try to keep from feenin too bad while you're gone haha.

That 8 will be that much sweeter when you get it next week.

  10. wow, that is weird. i was in rapid city just 2 weeks ago for a youth conference and everyone was really nice there. we stayed at the hotel alex johnson. and yes, mount rushmore was a let down, not as big as they make it seem on tv. got to see what was started on crazy horse. the black hills are absolutely beautiful. went to THE sturgis. i loved it out there. and they were taring up a street in rapid city. that was a pain. anyway, everyone we ran into was really nice to us. we also went to reptile land, that was not what it says it is. went to bear country, i loved that. the flights were horrid though. in minnesota an old lady fell off the plane getting out. one minute she was there, the next she was laying on the ground. the poor husband did not know what happened to her. i was behind her. scared the crap out of me. then we had to fly around 60, yes, 60, tornadoes to get to south dakota. on the way back, the plane in minnesota was broke down. anyway, if you ever get the chance, go there. beautiful country.

  11. I've been living in South Dakota for about a year now and I can testify that the people are very very friendly. It was a culture shock moving from Colorado, everybody waves and smiles. Some people are prejudice, but I don't think more than any other state, maybe more than where I'm from.

Cool!! I was just there tonight.. Drove over there to get familiar with where the airport was as that's where I'll be flying out of on Friday.. Of course, being so close to the Minnesota border I had to go over there just to check things out!!

    :p
