    Just thought I'd share...Stopped into my favorite wood broker yesterday, buying some padauk, purple heart, wenge, Mac Ebony and Hard Birdseye for necks and FB's, and the "lead saw"(what they call the guy who determines how each log is cut) Larry comes up to me and says he has something he saved for me. This is the first time in 20 years he has ever saved any piece of lumber for me.:p Curly Genuine Mahogany:eek:...not too common around here to see this.

    This was a really good day.:hyper: This board was 126" x 7" x 13/16"(only paid for 6" price with 20% off for sapwood defect-woooohooo)...enough for 4- 3/4" thick tops for neck throughs, and control cavity covers to boot.:D:bassist:
     
  2. Whoa, I love that stuff, you really don't see that kind of mahogany very often. It's like a poor man's koa.
     
  3. holy crap what a find. i cant tell you how long i been lookin for some curly mahogany. just the outher day at the break room table i was tellin the guys how i been a huntin a piece of curly mahogany. then you post pictures just to tease me even more. whats next, katolox? :D
