Are there any pedals out there that will make my tapping sound "better" but without changing the tone much? I'm not sure exactly how to describe what I mean. I like my tone, and my tapping sounds fine with the drums, but when I'm playing without the drums it just sounds like it needs some rounding out.

The Aphex Punch Factory is pretty transparent (even when running full throttle)

Yup. Next on my shopping list for the very same reason.

What do you guys mean by "transparent" when you are dicussing compressors?

Enough to make a difference, but not enough where you sound like Tony Levin. :smug:

Trasparent means it reduces gain (which is what compressors do) without coloring the tone. The tone you put in is the tone that comes out.
