    Someone once drunkenly assumed my TC Polytune was an iPod and accused us of faking the whole show. We did use some tracks but it wasn't a karaoke lip-synch like she thought.

    All you need is the talent booster pedal and Leland Sklar's "Producer Switch".

  12. I don't use effects pedals at all... one guy at a gig said my bass sounded sweet and wanted to know what effects I was using.... I said "Bass, low mid, hi mid and treble" - the 4 eq settings on my Fender rumble 500!

    There's something to be said for the simplicity of that approach, especially when you're loading out at 1 o'clock in the morning after a long night on stage.
