Hey All, Leaning toward grabbing either the Fender Bassman 500 (22.7" wide ) or 800 (22.37" wide) but I want to see if someone could snap a pic of either one of these two on top of a Fender cab that is only 19" wide (that would include a Rumble 210 v3/Rumble 112 v3 cab/Rumble 500 combo/Rumble 200 combo)?? I have two of the now discontinued 112 v3 cabs that I really really like but I think the "overhang" look will drive me mad...I COULD go side by side with the cabs and place the head in the middle or just simply buy a 115 cab that is slightly wider but I wanted to see if anyone could fulfill my request...thanks!
Hey, there, qwenchy! I saw those apparent width differences on the Fender website, too. But, I now believe that the 22.37” width for the 800 is a typo error, and that both the 500 & 800 use the same boxes. The shared 500/800 manual lists them both at 22.7" and newer ones have a 500/800 sticker in them as shown in this link: Official Fender Bassman Club Pt II . I don't think I've seen such a "T" configuration as you're asking for, but maybe someone has such and will post it? I have a 500 (22.7") that usually sits on it's Bassman 115 cab (26"), and I have a Rumble 500 combo (23" tall x 19" wide) that I once stacked like this: Here's a link to a pic of a 500 (22.7") on a Rumble v3 115 cab (23"): Official Fender Bassman Club Pt II . OooOoo, qwenchy! I think those Rumble 112s are sa-weeet! They would give some luscious sounds from a Bassman 500. I would caution you, however, that the Bassman 800 can output up to 500 continuous watts at 8 ohms! For a single 8 ohm cab with the Bassman 800 head I wouldn't feel very safe with anything less than a 500 watt rated Rumble or Bassman 410, per this link: Fender Rumble Club Good luck with whatever you decide. .
I bought a new Fender Bassman 500 that came in the mail yesterday and it is the exact width of my new heavier 4x10 version Fender cab. I just measured it at around 22 and a half, I hope that helps. -ScottM
Here's a link to a Fender Showman head on top of a Gries 112 cab for ya. Not exactly what you asked for, but close enough for you to get the idea. How do you like it? .
