A Little Help

    I am thinking of getting a new preamp put in my fretless bass and I don't know what kind to get.
    So, I don't want you to tell me what I should get, only I can know what is really the best for me, so I was hoping you could give me brands of different onboard preamps and electronics and stuff. This way I'll be able to research them myself and then choose.

    FWIW:

    Aguilar OBP-3; Bartolini NTMB; EMG BQC; J-retro; Seymour Duncan STC; are the most common after-maket and probably make up roughly 90% of the market I'd speculate. But there are others. These are 3 band versions, 2 band would be listed along with them at the sites. You could use an Aguilar, Sadowsky, Sans DI, MXR M80 DI outboards and skip touching the bass.

    Seymour Duncan also makes a Steve Bailey fretless pre which I had but never installed.

    TB search, google search, or a visit to those sites well yeild probably all the info you'd need.
