I've been trying to figure out for a while, what best defines my sound?

    1.)
Is it my Bass Or Basses that I use? Meaning does my sound and playing drastically change with every bass that I add into my arsenal. Is the sound that I put out eally just the inherent sound of the bass coming through each and every time?

    2.)
Is it my Amp? Or Amps? Meaning does most of my sound have to do with the particular way my EQ is setup or how large of speakers I have or how many?

    3.)
Is it the music type? Depending on what style of music I feel like playing, my playing changes accordingly?

    4.)
Is it my ability as a player? Is it the more technique that I use and incorporate into my music the more the sound of playing becomes my own?

Or is it a combination of everything (probably answered my own question). Hmmmmm...
But out of all of those which one do you think contributes the most to the sound of a bassist? 1, 2, 3, or 4.

    It's definately not 1. Basses don't matter.

With that out of the way, I think you dshold sell me your Cirri :D

    Honestly, I think it's a combination of the 4.

I'd say 4 mostly. Even on a junker bass with a junker amp, you can tell is someone has talent and/or skill with bass.

I'd say 3 next, because certain music just seems to bring out the best in a player.

I think 1, the bass has more influence that the amp, because the design, playability, construction, and all that goes into a bass will allow a player to play what he wants. (I.E. Not everyone is going to play as well on a Warwick, due to the weight and nexk problems for some, whereas others may find Warwick perect for their playing)

Then last would be the amp. Yes it does infulence the sound, and the shape of it, but I don't think it has as much effect on the actual playing and all. It's what's going to put the other three into effect, but I think on the Grand scheme of things, the Amp would make the least difference compared to the other 4.

    4: 40%
    3: 23%
    1: 20%
    2: 17%

    100%

    :D
