Just a plug for this amp. I own two of them plus one of the 260 watt models.

    They are INCREDIBLE amps.

Very similar to the SWR SM-400/500 or Eden WT-400 amps in terms of features and control layout, mainly because the two guys who designed those collaborated on the A.M.P. designs as well.

These things are great sounding, super reliable and for $300 a super deal.

Back when Hartke was making only cabinets, they used to recomend these amps to their users and a number of Hartke endorsers used the 420:

    Jack Bruce
    Garry Tallent (Springsteen)
    Darryl Jones (Miles Davis)

So save some money, get a killer amp and help poor narud get some cash :D

if i didn't have an swr sm 400s i really liked, i'd be all over this one. are these amps rack mountable? i also heard a.m.p. used to make a cabinet that would expand to twice it's internal volume and then collapse into itself when not in use. anyone have any info on this cabinet?

Right. They made a single 15 cab that was built in a sleeve. Very cool and very rare.

I have a set of rack mounts. IMO it's great not needing a rack for it. Not for sale.
