I've been a long-time fan of graphite necks and have kept a very good Modulus Quantum 6 and Zon Legacy Elite 6 for that very reason. When this new VJ4 popped up at a great price, I couldn't resist. It was built in January of this year and was bought new a little over a month ago by the bassist from whom I bought it. It has a 5A quilted maple top that is pretty stunning in person and the usual VJ4 appointments: alder body, Bart pups, NTBT 9v preamp.

I will post a full gig review on Sunday after I gig it for 4 sets Saturday night. How does it sound out of the box? Strong. Clear. PUNCHY. And so on. This is gonna be fun...

    Here's the pics:

Thanks, everyone. It set up like a dream. TI Powerbass strings and the intonation was easy to dial-in, totally perfect. I bumped the preamp output pot to about 75% and raised both pickups a bit and it's ready to rock!

    More later...

I actually kind of feel bad for Adam now. I think we've all been "the guy who didn't get it" at one point or another.
