I have been lurking here for quite a while, but I wanted to share some photos of my new bass and give Michael Tobias some thanks!

It is a 535 with an Ash body, burl maple top and maple on maple neck. Although the pictures speak for themselves, I have to say this instrument truly looks and sounds incredible.

    Thank You Mike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What an incredibly beautiful bass. If I was going to get a furniture bass, I'd want that one. In fact, I do want that one!

    Congratulations, man!

Welcome to TB, and congrats ! Your bass is quite awesome.

(right now, writing a letter to Santa Claus...)

    All the best,
  11. Nice, I like your choice of fretboard, maple has a very fat distictive tone IMO and with the ash body it must get great classic sounds. I'm really starting to crave one of those, and I haven't even played one yet!

That's the most beautiful maple burl I've seen yet! Is it stained to get it that dark? Mine is much lighter. Congrats on a real beauty!
Still trying to sell my myrtle burl on poplar 535. Anyone interested?
