Add a Gibson EBO pickup right at the neck... I think that's the essential sound difference.

  6. The pickups used in the Attitude are made by dimarzio and u can buy them. They would be your best bet to try and get the Attitude tone.

I'm thinking don't ruin a nice P-bass. Just buy an Attitude.

  8. what do we think?

    at least we do...

  9. Dimarzio Will Power pickups...

  10. And a couple of Ampeg stacks.

Why would you want to downgrade the sound of your P-bass?

If you really want that Yammy 'tude sound, got get a Yammy. If you still have the P in 15 years, you're going to slit your wrists if you make foolish trendy modifications to this instrument.

    all the best,

Get an Attitude bass. They're so good, you'll thank yourself and the P bass will never see the light of day again. If you must mod your P bass though, add a Woofer pickup at the neck, replace the split coil with a Dimarzio Will Power and wire the bass for stereo output. Also, take a dremel to the board for some scallops!

  13. The Will Power middle nails Sheehans clean tone.

I did it with an old MIM Precision. Miss it like the dickens.

I haven't had a chance to play a real Attitude, but my MIM was darn close with a Dimarzio Model P and a 1964 Gibson EB-0 humbucker.

I don't think I'd do it to a MIA Fender though.

Have you ever played a G&L SB2 , there is some major growl factor with them.
