A P is a Tele, a J is a Strat, a Stingray is a Les Paul. Discuss.

  1. It just occured to me:

    P = Tele = Simple, basic, sturdy, dependable
    J = Strat = Versatile, ergonomic, playable, cuts through
    MM = Les Paul = Tone, tone, TONE!

    There's some other coincidences, like the fact that the J/Strat was supposed to be an improvement over the P/Tele by having an extra pickup and a more ergonomic shape (and they are all Fenders!), the humbucker type pickup in the MM and LP, the "you've gotta have a J/Strat" thing...

    If you also have too much free time in your hands, can you think of other examples? what would be the bass equivalent of a shredder type Ibanez guitar? what about a PRS or a 335?

  2. Yamaha=Shredder
    Sadowsky=PRS

    I wouldn't put MM in the Les Paul category, perhaps a Modulus, and what about our good ol' friend the SG?

    Modulus is not as mass produced as an MM or an LP

  4. Cost about the same though XD. Now that I think about it, maybe a LP would be the equivlant to a MM with dual humbuckers. That would be something to consider.

  5. somehow if I see a band who uses a spector or warwick the guitarist always eems to have a PRS or ESP

  16. I would change MM and P. Soundwise they fit better this way:

    MM= Tele
    P=LesPaul
