Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by 7StringBassist, Apr 26, 2009.

  1. I'm using my Ernieball Audiophile HD-500 I was wondering if I can power one amp using that and use the same amp to preamp a power amp without loosing any power:bag:

If you send one signal to the power amp you have, that will power the speaker you chose. If there is a pre-amp out or some sort of signal you can take out of the power amp you have : you can send that signal to another power amp. There should not be any drop in wattage, just keep in mind that a speaker signal goes to the speaker and the pre-amp signal is just a signal with NO POWER.

the power amp would power the other speaker, I'm using the xlr out to the power amp

If you're taking a "line out" or "preamp out" jack from an amp head, that does not affect any power going to the speaker output of the head.
