A question about a Warwick...

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Sheep Man, Jun 2, 2001.

1. What's that little switch on the Streamer Jazzman series for? I remember fiddling around with it, trying to figure out exactly what it does. I could hear an obvious change in tone, but I don't know what it actually DOES.

Someone please enlighten me?

I think it's a coil switch for the MM pickup.

I was on the Warwick website & you could see the switch but it didn't say anything about a switch.

From the Warwick site:
The Streamer "Jazzman" combines the Streamer bolt-on design with our extremely popular "Jazzman" pick-up configuration. Just like all our other "Jazzman" basses, the Streamer "Jazzman" has a large-pole, humbucking pick-up in the bridge position and a J-style pick-up in the neck position. The body is made of swamp ash back with a 5mm flamed-maple cap on top, which gives the bass a very warm sound.

The Streamer "Jazzman" is armed with a Basslines 3-band active preamp, with the "slap" contour that is activated when you pull on the volume knob. If you are looking for a bass that can give you a wide variety of tones in a very attractive package, then the Streamer "Jazzman" is for you.

if it's what i think - the switch goes between series, parallel, and single coil for the humbucker - just like the MM sterling and 5string stingray.

5. Ah...
yes yes, I see...
Now if only they imported more than just streamers. Not that I have anything against them, I just wish I could try out a few other Warwicks around here. Maybe they've got some more variety at some of the other branches... :D

hey Sheep Man,

that switch on the Streamer Jazzman toggles the pickups between, Humbucker in series, Humbucker in parallel and Humbucker + J in series (me think. might be HB+J in parallel).
